A Guide To Las Vegas Hotels

** We visited Las Vegas in August 2014. This post has been updated in July 2019 to reflect accurate information.

Stretching for more than three and a half miles, the Las Vegas Strip is one of America’s favourite destinations, it’s a crazy nightlife and entertainment district, in just a few blocks.

Each hotel along the Las Vegas strip is almost a destination all of it’s own. Along with hundreds of hotel rooms, the resorts in Vegas all have their own unique shows on offer, with incredible restaurants, pools, parties and in some cases even theme parks, packed onto their property. They are almost like their own little villages.

You could easily spend all your time in Vegas just exploring your own hotel. But what fun is that?! While you’re here you may as well get out and explore all the hotels!

There’s a hotel on the strip for every type of budget along the strip. Here is a quick guide to some of the main hotels along the Las Vegas Strip, and some of our favourites, in no particular order. Above image by James Brandon.

It’s important to remember that in addition to the room fees charged at Las Vegas hotels, they also have a resort fee that will not be listed in the find price.

Resort fees can range from about $18 – $30 USD per night in addition to the nightly rate and are a non negotiable charge that will be applied to your room when you check in.

The hotels will claim that the resort charge can include everything from wifi charges to newspapers, towel hire, pool access and bottled water in your room, even if you don’t want these things. The inclusions and actual fee charge will differ between the different resorts and can become quite expensive if you’re staying for a while, so make sure you know how much you will be charged before you arrive.

Check out the hotel’s website you’re interested in for more information and exact rates and fees per night.

Mandalay Bay is my favorite of all of the above. I really love the big aquarium there. I booked the place 4 years ago with my girlfriend. We booked trough Reservation Counter and we had a really great time. I would love to go back there again for another trip!
